RESTON, Va., July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health, and engineering solutions company, was awarded a prime contract by the Wichita Airport Authority to install and integrate IT/communications systems for the new airport terminal at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport, now known as the Dwight D. Under the contract, Leidos will design, procure, install, and integrate network security, electronic visual information display, voice/data networks, and security networks for the new terminal, multiple existing buildings, new parking garage, and new rental car facility.

Wichita has historically been at the lead of the aircraft manufacturing industry with more aircraft being built in Wichita than anywhere else on earth. Mid-Continent Airport, the largest airport in Kansas, is a small hub air carrier and general aviation complex, providing accommodations for all aircraft, as well as the latest innovations in passenger convenience, safety, and efficiency. This new terminal will provide the air carriers with a facility that is designed with modern airline operational and security practices being accommodated. It will also be more efficient and customer-friendly than the current terminal, and as a result, will allow the airlines to provide better service to their passengers.

"Leidos is an industry leader in integrating complex security and high-technology systems into critical infrastructure facilities such as airports," said Leidos Engineering Solutions Group President James R. Moos. "We're proud to support the Wichita Airport Authority by helping minimize redundancies, economize installations, and maximize functionality of the new terminal."
