Lincoln Financial Network (LFN), the retail wealth management affiliate of Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE:LNC), today announced that Bill Seawell, senior vice president, head of General Agency (GA) and Agency Building General Agent (ABGA) Distribution, will retire in July 2014 after 38 distinguished years with the company. Seawell will be succeeded by Stafford Moser, vice president, head of GA, and Tom Eusebio, vice president, head of ABGA.

“Throughout his tenure at Lincoln, Bill Seawell has been an outstanding friend, colleague, and inspirational leader,” said David Berkowitz, president of Lincoln Financial Network. “He has left an indelible mark on the financial services industry and on Lincoln Financial.”

In 1979, after serving in the United States Marine Corps, Seawell joined the Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company as a producer and quickly moved to lead the company’s Greensboro Agency for 12 years. In 1993, he joined Jefferson Pilot Financial’s home office and held key executive positions in distribution and marketing, including chief marketing officer, prior to being appointed head of GA and ABGA Distribution with the merger of Lincoln Financial in 2006.

Throughout his career, Seawell has been a recognized leader within the financial services industry. He is past president of the Greensboro chapters for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP), and the General Agents Management Association (GAMA). He also is past chairman of LIMRA’s Agency Building Committee and served on the board of the Distribution Leaders Round Table.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Seawell has been a volunteer for the United Way and Habitat for Humanity. He has served on the Board of Advisors for the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center of Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Guilford Technical Community College Foundation in Jamestown, N.C.

After Seawell shared his intent to retire last year, plans were made to transition Seawell’s leadership responsibilities to Moser and Eusebio, who will report directly to Berkowitz.

Moser began his career as a life insurance agent with Jefferson Pilot Financial more than twenty years ago. During that time, he spent nearly seven years in the securities area for Jefferson Pilot Securities Corporation. In 2002, he rejoined Jefferson Pilot as vice president of ABGA Sales and joined LFN and the GA Channel as vice president of Sales and Recruiting in 2008. In 2012, he was named head of the GA Channel.

Eusebio has been with the company for forty years. Prior to joining the ABGA Channel in 1996, he was responsible for Jefferson Pilot Financial’s Individual Health and Disability Income operations and served as the first head of the company’s Premier Partner Ambassador Program designed to deepen relationships with top producers and field managers. Eusebio was appointed head of the ABGA Channel in 2004.

“Bill Seawell has built an outstanding team that will undoubtedly continue to advance the growth of the organization he has been so instrumental in leading,” said Berkowitz. “Stafford and Tom are both tenured industry veterans and accomplished leaders within our organization. I am excited for the future of GA and ABGA Distribution under Stafford’s and Tom’s leadership.”
