Executive Board of Linde AG will resume talks with Praxair, Inc. about potential Merger of Equals / Dr Büchele steps down as Chairman and member of the Executive Board of Linde AG / Appointment of Prof. Dr Belloni as Chairman of the Executive Board of Linde AG
Munich, 7 December 2016 - Today, the Executive Board of Linde AG has decided, after consultation with the Supervisory Board and on the basis of the proposal received from the American company Praxair, Inc. to resume talks about the essential conditions of a potential merger of equals between the two companies. All members of the Supervisory Board support resuming the talks.
Dr Wolfgang Büchele offered the Supervisory Board of Linde AG in its meeting today to step down as a member of the Executive Board, Chairman of the Executive Board and Arbeitsdirektor of Linde AG effective by end of today. The Supervisory Board accepted this offer and appointed Prof Dr Aldo Ernesto Belloni as a member of the Executive Board, Chairman of the Executive Board and Arbeitsdirektor of Linde AG effective as of 8 December 2016 for a term ceasing 31 December 2018.
