CHICAGO, June 27, 2016 - Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, has won the Supplier in Excellence Training Award from the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) for its redesigned Littelfuse University. Littelfuse created an easily accessed and informative program to help distributors increase their product knowledge. The platform contains tools and resources that will help distributors grow their business.

Littelfuse University was originally launched in 2005 with more than 45,000 course completions. Updated in June 2015, Littelfuse saw more than 3,700 course completions in just the first six months - 60% higher than the same time frame for the previous year.

Matthew Cole, senior vice president, industrial, emphasized that Littelfuse University provides more than just product information for distributors. 'We have incorporated training on vertical markets to better prepare users for application questions they may encounter in the filed,' he said. 'Our goal is simply to provide best-in-class training to our distributor partners.'

The site is divided into four main categories with 18 subcategories (with the capability to expand as much as needed in the future) and features more than 35 interactive training courses, varying in length from two to 20 minutes, depending on the topic. The program's home page has a section of 'Featured Courses' to provide easy navigation to new products and/or current promotions. Users can track their progress via an 'Enrolled Courses' section that displays all courses a user has enrolled in but not completed, and the program can be configured to send reminders to encourage completions.

Littelfuse University is run off of a platform supported by BlueVolt, a leader in educational LMS systems, that allows the ability to share content in a convenient format which can be adapted to a distributor's training environment.

'We are very pleased with the numbers, but the best indication of the program's success is how our distributor partners have adopted our training and incorporated it into their programs,' Cole said. 'One of our partners said it best: 'The content was to the point and good for the distributor customer to understand opportunities.' Overall, 91% of users who complete courses rate their experience as positive.'
