M Real Oyj A share : Metsä Board presents its worldwide recognised paperboards at Fachpack 2016

At FachPack 2016, Metsä Board will showcase its food service boards as well as its folding boxboards and white linerboards designed to meet the demands of today's packaging requirements. The company's paperboards are made from a renewable and recyclable raw material, fresh fibres, that are of known origin and naturally pure.

Metsä Board's food service boards are designed for the growing food service segment, being safe for direct food contact and ideal for plates, cups, bowls, trays and food packaging. The company announced in November 2015 an investment in an extrusion coating line at its Husum mill. This investment will enable the company to produce fresh fibre paperboards with a PE-coating. Before the new extrusion line starts up during the first half of 2017, Metsä Board is able to offer food service boards PE-coated by external converters.

A new addition to Metsä Board's white linerboard range is Kemiart Brite+, a specially designed coated white-top kraftliner suitable for brand, retail and consumer packages and safe for food packaging. This high-performance board adds strength and has an excellent surface for conventional flexo post-printing of corrugated boards. As well as providing high colour density and gloss, it helps deliver excellent productivity results throughout the print and conversion process and is a competitive alternative to uncoated white linerboards.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to see samples of the three winners of the 2016 Pro Carton ECMA Awards. The 'Carton of the Year' as well as the winners in the Food and Beauty & Cosmetics categories were all made from Metsä Board's paperboards. These samples clearly demonstrate how structural design, converting, print and finishing techniques can add considerable value and impact to the final packaging design.
