Magyar Telekom (Reuters: MTEL.BU and Bloomberg: MTELEKOM HB), the leading Hungarian telecommunications service provider, announces that it starts the implementation of Digital Hungary targeted in the partnership agreement signed with the Government and launches extensive developments in Nyíregyháza.

Thanks to the partnership of service providers and the local government, Nyíregyháza will be the first city in Hungary where the vision of Digital Hungary comes true. We plan to invest hundreds of millions of forints to have high speed internet accessible for every household in Nyíregyháza by the end of 2015. Through this, the most advanced digital services will become available also in those homes where it has not been possible so far. Utilizing the results and experience gained during the program launched in Nyíregyháza, Magyar Telekom is planning to implement similar developments throughout the country until 2018, which is the target date also specified in the Partnership cooperation agreement for Digital Hungary.
