As a premiere in Hungary, Magyar Telekom made the NarrowBand-IoT (NB-IoT) technology - enabling machine-to-machine communication - available, covering the whole of Budapest.

The cost efficient, innovative, 4G based network solution offers outstanding indoor access and long battery life and operation time, while enabling secure, simultaneous and undisturbed communication between a high number of devices. This network enables a wide range of Internet of Things (IoT) applications gaining ground in Hungary, creating the basis for establishing numerous new business models. Following the technology introduction - verified with successful terminal device tests - now new possibilities arise for further partnerships and the preparation for the commercial launch. Based on the new technology, T-Systems Hungary can offer numerous IoT solutions to its partners at the most versatile application areas, primarily through the smart solutions. The network in Budapest was established as the first step of the Pan-European developments of Deutsche Telekom.
