Maybank grabbed a double win when it received two international Corporate Responsibility awards recently.

The Group was awarded 'Best Sustainability Report' from the ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Awards 2014 which was held in Manila, Philippines as well as the Platinum award for 'Excellence in Provision of Literacy & Education' by the Global CSR Awards 2014 in Bali, Indonesia.

Both awards recognised organisations that have made great headway in their corporate sustainability efforts.

The ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summit & Awards (ACSSA) focuses on contemporary issues such as the role of social media and new business models for collaborative consumption while the Global CSR Summit & Awards (GCSA) focused more on exemplary programmes that have benefited communities and businesses alike.

Maybank's Head of Group Corporate Affairs, Eliza Mohamed said, "It is encouraging to receive this affirmation of our corporate responsibility efforts which form an integral part of our business initiatives. Value creation through innovation is a big part of Maybank's culture and it is consistently tied back to our everyday operations and programmes, in line with our mission of humanising financial services across Asia,"

Both the ASEAN Corporate Sustainability Summit & Awards (ACSSA) and The Global CSR Summit & Awards (GCSA) recognise the importance of corporate sustainability and how innovation, inclusiveness as well as governance and strategy come into play in ensuring sustained progress towards a socially inclusive economy.

The Award for Best Sustainability Report was for the Maybank 2013 Sustainability Report while the award for Excellence in Provision of Literacy & Education category recognised the effectiveness of Maybank's Cashville Kidz Financial Literacy Programme jointly run with MoneyTree Malaysia.
