Up to October 23, 2014, the self-made lead sulfate (12 tons) of MCC Huludao Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd. had been proved to be well functioned in actual utilization, qualified for production and could fully satisfy the production demand of the electrolytic zinc system. This achievement marks that, the production technology of lead sulfate through lead electrolyte, which is independently developed by MCC Huludao, turns out to be a success and is of good direct/indirect benefits.
MCC Huludao found out that, during the operation of electrolytic zinc system, a certain amount of lead sulfate shall be added and thus prevent the soluble cobalt so as to reduce the consumption of zinc powder. The lead sulfate used to be procured from external channel, which was relatively expensive and had an influence on the operation cost. During the lead electrolytic process in the ISP system, the concentration of lead ion in the electrolyte in increased steadily, which shall be partially removed so as to meet the productive conditions for the electrolytic lead. The Technology Center of MCC Huludao takes the lead electrolyte as raw materials, use sulfate precipitation technology and then produces lead sulfate. By means of appropriate control on technical conditions and quite a few tests, several problems have been resolved to ensure the stable productive process, for instance, the product purity of lead sulfate, the residues of fluoride ion and the concentration of sulfate ion. Now the first batch of lead sulfate (12 tons) has been successfully utilized in the electrolytic zinc plant, of which the performance has been proved to be better than that outsourced lead sulfate.
During the production and tests of lead sulfate, MCC Huludao fully utilized the current equipment, carried out transformation for the various tanks, mixing devices, power supply system and water pipeline, and independently established the production system for the lead sulfate. In this way, a saving of RMB 200,000 yuan was achieved in the equipment expenses and the production cost was greatly decreased.
