China ENFI Puts Design of World's First Hydrometallurgy Lead Engineering Project into Operation

+ . -

On July 28th, a ceremony to mark the operation commencement of the world's first sulfur hydrometallurgy lead engineering project designed by China ENFI, the Xiangyun Feilong Demonstration Project of recourse cycling utilization processed by lead sulfate residue hydrometallurgy, was held grandly at the smelting plant of Xiangyun Feilong Resources Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. The International Lead Zinc Research Organization and International Zinc Association sent their congratulations on the occasion and gave high appraisals of the project.

At present, this project is the only engineering project of lead sulfate residue treated by a hydrometallurgy process in the world. It adopts a newly developed process of the lead sulfate residue hydrometallurgy of lead, overcomes the disadvantages of high energy consumption, serious pollution, heavy labor intensity and low recovery rate of valuable metals in the production process of treating lead sulfate residue by pyrometallurgy, is able to process lead sulfate residue in zinc smelting residue with high efficiency, comprehensively recovers the valuable metals of lead, zinc, gold, silver, copper and indium, significantly reduces production costs, and has good environmental protection and economic benefits. Moreover, such technology can be widely used in the recycling of waste lead acid batteries, realizing combined lead and zinc smelting and the circular usage of resources, and conforming to the development direction of industrial transformation, low carbon and environmental friendliness. The smooth implementation and successful pilot run of this project marks the official opening of the hydrometallurgy process application in the lead sulfate residue treatment field.
