Metallurgical of China : He Wenbo Investigates and Surveys MCC’s Zhanjiang Steel and Iron Project

On July 11th, China Minmetals President and Leading Party Group He Wenbo and his delegation investigated, surveyed and guided the work of Baosteel's Zhanjiang Steel and Iron Co., Ltd. ('Zhanjiang Steel and Iron').

In the late morning of July 11th, after making a field investigation of the Zhanjiang Steel and Iron Project, He Wenbo held a meeting with Baosteel Group Vice General Manager Zhao Zhouli and Baosteel Vice General Manager, Zhanjiang Steel and Iron President and Party Committee Secretary Sheng Genghong in which both parties reviewed the course of the construction of Zhanjiang Steel and Iron, predicted the Company's bright future, and further discussed deep cooperation in the next step in a friendly atmosphere.

In the afternoon, a forum was convened for MCC's subsidiaries to participate in the construction of the Zhanjiang Steel and Iron Project at which He Wenbo made a speech. The meeting was presided over by MCC Vice President and Board Secretary Xiao Xuewen. After earnestly listening to reports on the overall conditions of the constructed project by the main principals of MCC's subsidiaries, He Wenbo pointed out that the performance gained by Zhanjiang Steel and Iron today is due to the accumulation of experience possessed by both Baosteel people and MCC people, and both parties involved in the cooperation should feel deeply proud. We should form a strategic alliance with excellent and advanced manufacturing enterprises to move towards the whole world together. He expressed that participating in the construction of Zhanjiang Steel and Iron sufficiently embodied the Group Company's development orientation as an 'innovator in industrial upgrading' and verifies from one side that there is huge synergistic potential in MCC and that each subsidiary has the features and enormous potential to form a strong resultant force. He also stressed that there was no occupational death accidents and the level of safety management during the construction of Zhanjiang Steel and Iron reached the world-class level, and this is an achievement that all MCC people should pay tribute to.
