MCC Conducts Integration and Business Recombination Between Shanghai Baoye and BERIS

+ . -

In order to optimize resource allocation and defuse the risk of enterprise operation and management, following in-depth research by MCC, it was decided to merge the main body of BERIS with Shanghai Baoye.

On November 18th, MCC Standing Party Committee Member, MCC Vice President and Shanghai Baoye Chairman Wang Shilei held a cadres meeting in BERIS and made an important speech. MCC Enterprise Plan and Management Innovation Department Director Shao Bo hosted the meeting and announced MCC's decision to conduct an integration and business recombination between Shanghai Baoye and BERIS.

Wang Shilei pointed out that this integration and business recombination is a cautious decision which was made on the basis of the enterprise operation development of BERIS and the attitude of being responsible for the enterprise and the staff. BERIS was the earliest steel design team in New China. For almost 60 years, it achieved plentiful achievements in the north and northwest regions of China, and made a dense brushstroke for China's steel industry. In recent years, as there is a free-fall descent in the steel industry and the enterprise is facing significantly risky projects, MCC's leaders have attached high importance and concern to the development of BERIS, organized and held special meetings several times, researched the development problems of BERIS, and selected the best among various good schemes. They decided to partition and recombine BERIS to make its main body merge with Shanghai Baoye on the premise of being responsible for history and the future.

Wang Shilei pointed out that Shanghai Baoye has entered a new period of high-speed development as one of the most excellent construction subsidiaries of MCC Group. It is an effective support for the human resource development of Shanghai Baoye that the first-class engineering technicians of BERIS will join its platform. BERIS will further exploit the Shandong market, and optimize the industrial layout depending on the positioning of MCC's Shandong Region Company. After this recombination, BERIS will have a stronger capacity for resisting risks, a greater potential for exploiting the market and a broader development space in the future.

Shanghai Baoye General Manager and BERIS Chairman Bai Xiaohu aired his opinions and made a speech. He expressed that he resolutely supports and advocates MCC's decision. BERIS will further carry forward the fine conditions of the 'Dabao Institute' after integration, join in the struggle without any burdens, greatly emancipate its thought, fully transform its concepts on the new platform, integrate with Baoye as soon as possible with a brand new mental attitude, and make new contributions to the long-term development of Shanghai Baoye and the rebirth of BERIS.

The meeting was attended by cadres above middle level of BERIS.
