Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa) hereby announce the following company-wide reorganization, effective as of April 1, 2017.

(1)'Mobility Development Center' will be newly established within the R&D Center. In addition, 'Advancing Analysis Laboratory' will be abolished. Consequently, the CAE (Computer aided engineering) functions possessed by the Laboratory will be transferred to 'Mobility Development Center', and the computational science functions as well as the advancing analysis functions will be transferred to 'Process Technology Laboratory'. Purpose
To propose solutions to customers focusing on the mobility field through designing and processing evaluation of component parts, in order to further promote the adoption of Mitsui Chemicals' materials.(2)'Advanced Production Technology Promotion Division.' will be newly established within the Production & Technology Center.
Purpose
To accelerate the innovation of the production technology capabilities (regarding process, facility, and security) of the Mitsui Chemicals group by developing and applying IT-centered advanced technologies to production bases.(3)'Business Efficiency Promotion Division' will be abolished.
Reason
The division has fulfilled its role of 'managing business efficiency projects planned and implemented by each division, as well as coordinating and supporting the projects from a company-wide viewpoint'. However, Mitsui Chemicals will continue to advance efforts towards business efficiency.
