2 October 2015 IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division held a meeting of the interdepartmental commission for assessing the readiness of the enterprise for the autumn-winter operation period (AWP). According to the results Chairman of the Commission - Deputy Chief Engineer for Operation of IDGC of Centre Anton Gerasimov presented Director of the branch Vladimir Syschikov the certificate readiness for the 2015-2016 autumn-winter operation period - the document confirming the readiness of the Tambov power engineers to work in the period of peak demand.

The Commission, composed of representatives of IDGC of Centre, a branch of PJSC 'Rossetti' - 'Centre of Technical Supervision', the Administration of the Tambov region, a branch of JSC 'SO UES' Lipetsk Transmission Control Centre, regional offices Rostekhnadzor and EMERCOM of Russia, assessed the results of conducted in Tambovenergo events to improve the reliability of electric grids and power equipment in the period of low temperatures. Members of the commission unanimously decided that the branch of Tambovenergo is ready to operate through the winter.

Obtaining the Certificate of readiness was preceded by serious preparation of electric grid facilities of the branch for the winter - performance of repair and investment programs, implementation of additional measures to improve the reliability of the equipment.

For nine months of this year Tambovenergo performed a comprehensive overhaul of four 35 kV substations, more than a thousand kilometres of overhead power lines of 0.4-110 kV, 196 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV. 481 hectares of ROWs of overhead lines of all voltage classes were cleared, which corresponds to the planned figures for the period.

For employees of the branch briefings on the specifics of working in emergency situations at low temperatures were organized. 15 specialized trainings of operating staff were conducted to work out to introduce schedules of emergency restrictions to consumption of electric energy in a sharp decrease in ambient temperature.

At the moment the emergency supply of Tambovenergo is staffed at 100%. Communication systems, supervisory process control, uninterruptible power supply systems of the executive office are in good condition and ready to work in conditions of maximum load. Availability for use of 17 backup power sources with total capacity of 0.58 MW was checked, which are located in Distribution Zones and are ready for use.

The branch formed 10 mobile crews of 60 people, who are equipped with new special vehicles (10 crew vehicles and 10 aerials), provided with electrical safety devices and personal protection equipment, supplies, means of communication, petrol generators, and are ready for emergency response, including at low temperatures.

'Obtaining the Certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter period of 2015-2016 without dissenting opinions of members of the Commission and taking special decisions is logical evaluation of the results of our specialists. The branch coped with the task and prepared the electric grid complex of the Tambov region to ensure reliable operation in the winter period and this is certainly the merit of our team,' stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division director Vladimir Syschikov.
