IDGC of Centre summed up the execution of the Program of Innovative Development of the Company in 2015 in terms of implementation of the results of completed research and experimental development (R&D). This is about the company's patented steel multifaceted poles of power lines (SMP) and pole-mounted transformer substations (PTS) of 6-10/0.4 kV.

Design of the SMP and PTS is developed with technical specifications and under the supervision of IDGC of Centre's specialists to meet modern requirements to technical policy and improve productivity during assembly and maintenance. They are in demand by grid enterprises and of interest to producers, which enables us, as the right holder, when placing orders for SMP and PTS, to compensate the costs of their creation.

IDGC of Centre uses for it the adopted practice in the developed countries to enter into license agreements with manufacturers of specialized products. According to the agreement, the manufacturers produce and sell R&D products, transferring IDGC of Centre a certain percent of the sum of their sale.

In 2015 IDGC of Centre signed five license agreements: for the production and sale of steel multifaceted poles - with LLC 'Alpha Tech' and LLC 'SevZapRegionStroy', pole-mounted transformer substations - with LLC 'Urussu Electromechanical Plant', LLC 'Transformer' and JSC 'Altrans'. Four contracts are registered with Rospatent, the agreement with JSC 'Altrans' is in the process of registration.

Steel multifaceted poles are one of the recent developments of IDGC of Centre, the patent for which the company received in February 2014. Compared with conventional concrete and wooden poles, they are far more reliable and durable (the service life of steel poles is about 50 years, concrete - 36, wooden - 25), light, compact, and as a result - more convenient for construction. Compliance with the requirements of modern aesthetics allows using them in rural areas and in large cities. Pole-mounted transformer substations of IDGC of Centre, in comparison with other existing PTS on the market, have a simpler and more reliable design that allows for their installation on a pole without specialized lifting equipment. Application of the PTS makes it possible to reduce the length of low voltage class lines, thereby reducing transmission losses, improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply to consumers. In addition, experience shows that the construction of overhead lines with pole-mounted transformer substations significantly increases the grid transmission capacity and the possibility of grid connection of new customers in expanding settlements. All these advantages make innovations of IDGC of Centre in demand from electric grid enterprises, so the company plans to expand the practice of the use of licensing agreements.

IDGC of Centre performs regular work on the formation of additional non-tariff sources of financing, taking into account the current macroeconomic situation. Its purpose is to compensate the funds spent on development projects in the sphere of innovations. Such an approach enhances the effectiveness of the company in terms of R&D, creating additional opportunities for the development and implementation of cutting-edge innovations.
