MRSK Tsentra : Tambovenergo ensured the reliability of electricity supply in the region during the period of bad weather

21-23 April 2016 a sharp deterioration in the weather conditions was recorded in the Tambov region: abundant precipitation in the form of rain and wet snow, strong, up to 22 m/s wind. According to weather forecasts, this weather situation poses a threat of wire breakage of power lines and, as a consequence - interruption of power supply to consumers. In this connection, IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division beforehand implemented a number of organizational and technical measures to ensure the sustainable operation of distribution grid facilities of the region.

The power company tightened control over the functioning of grids and substation equipment. Operators on duty of Tambovenergo effectively interacted with the relevant units of the General Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Tambov region, receiving timely data for monitoring of climatic factors that significantly affected the operation of life-supporting structures.

28 first responding and restoration crews of 56 people and 28 specialized vehicles were on duty. In a case of major technological violations it was possible to increase the number of staff to 82 crews (444 persons) and 184 vehicles, also contractors could be involved to the restoration work. Backup power supply of socially significant consumers of the Tambov region, if necessary, could be provided with generator sets with a total capacity of 580 kW.

Actions taken in time to a large extent contributed to the operation through the atmospheric front not affecting the reliability of the electricity supply, no technological failures in the power grid equipment in the period of adverse weather conditions were recorded. Currently, the energy system of the Tambov region is operating in a stable way.
