The Starooskolsky Customer Service Centre of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division received the 50 thousandth visitor, who submitted an application for replacement of an electricity meter. The jubilee client was a resident of Stary Oskol Evgenia Shubina. She was presented with a certificate for the purchase and installation of a single-phase electricity meter, the crew completed all the work on the same day.

According to Evgenia Shubina, she applied to Belgorodenergo, because it's time to replace the outdated meter. She applied and suddenly turned out to be an anniversary customer of this service. 'I did not have to pay for the meter, but I also had it installed for free. For us, pensioners, this is a significant benefit!' noted the woman.

The head of the customer interaction office of the branch Marina Zhilenkova explained that this is the most popular service among residents of the region. Up to 12 thousand persons annually apply to offices of customer service of Belgorodenergo with similar questions. Last year, for example, the power company installed over 11.7 thousand electricity meters, 2.3 thousand of them - in multi-apartment houses. In the first half of 2017, the number of requests has already reached 6 thousand.

Marina Zhilenkova reminded that from 1 January 2017 all citizens living in apartment buildings and not having electricity metering devices are calculated for electricity by a standard with an increase in the coefficient of 1.5. This means that paying for electricity without a meter accounts for 50% more. In addition to residents without meters, those citizens whose meters do not meet the requirements of the legislation - with the expired term of the state verification, as well as the accuracy class of 2.5 and worse - must also ensure proper instrumental metering. Only in micro-districts of individual housing construction there are more than 50 thousand such cases.

The number of residents without meters in the region is decreasing, but it continues to be significant. 14.3 thousand people violate the current legislation, still continuing to pay for the kilowatt-hours used by the standard. Basically, they are residents of Stary Oskol (5.8 thousand), Gubkin (2.5 thousand) and Belgorod (2.8 thousand). About three thousand persons account for the private sector and micro-districts of individual housing construction.
