MRSK Tsentra : Employees of Belgorodenergo found theft of electricity in the amount of over one million rubles

During the next raid to identify theft of electricity, employees of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division revealed in Alekseevka a fact of non-contractual electricity consumption in the amount of 171,842 kWh. The violator of the electricity consumption mode was the owner of a local car wash, who installed the hidden electrical wiring and connected his equipment bypassing the meter. The damage from the illegal electricity consumption amounted to more than 1 million rubles.

The owner of the facility previously had problems with electricity metering. He paid a serious fine for using a 'modified' meter. This time there were no violations in the energy meter, but the participants of the raid were interested in low electric power consumption in cold weather and in the absence of gas equipment. Thorough inspection of the wiring, hidden by a hinged facade, showed the presence of an illegal connection to the lead-in cable to the electricity meter. In the presence of witnesses, an act of non-contractual consumption was drawn up, car wash workers were notified of the need to visit Alekseevsky Distribution Zone for the purpose of obtaining the act, acquainting with the calculation and receiving an invoice for payment of the consumed electricity.

The determination of the volume of non-contractual consumption in such cases is carried out on the basis of the RF Government Resolution No. 442 of 04.05.2012, proceeding from the cable capacity, that is, the permissible current load of each lead-in wire and for the period during which non-contractual consumption took place (not more than a year). In this particular case, the value of non-metered consumption cost the businessman more than 1 million rubles. If he refuses to voluntarily repay the damages, the company will appeal to the court, and then he will have to compensate for legal costs as well as pay an administrative fine.

'Inspections and raids are conducted not blindly,' explained deputy chief for sale of services of Alekseevsky Distribution Zone Alexander Kuchmisty. 'We literally calculate violators, comparing volumes of supplied and actually paid electricity. On the balance of Alekseevsky Distribution Zone there are eight hundred consumers - legal entities, who have three thousand metering points, and twenty-eight thousand six hundred residential consumers. All are under constant control of us.'

According to operative data for 9 months, on the territory of Alekseevsky district 24 facts of non-contractual and non-metered consumption in the amount of 262 thousand kWh for 664 thousand rubles were revealed. In total, Belgorodenergo recorded 729 facts in the amount of 13.2 million kWh for a total of 42.4 million rubles.
