MRSK Tsentra : Kurskenergo provides reliable power supply to consumers in the period of low temperatures

During the autumn-winter peak loads of 2016 - 2017 IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division provides reliable power supply to consumers in the region. Equipment and grids are functioning in a stable operation mode.

This has been made possible thanks to the coordinated and professional work of the branch experts who, acting ahead of the curve, carrying out constant monitoring of the situation, do not allow long-lasting power outages. The average time to eliminate damage has decreased to 1.78 hours. In the same autumn-winter operation period of 2015 - 2016 the average duration of the restoration of power supply was 2.53 hours.

The number of technical violations because of trees falling has also decreased. This has been achieved thanks to the absolute realization of the program of clearing ROWs. For example, last year more than 910 hectares of ROWs along overhead lines of all voltage classes were cleared.

Organizational, technical measures, personnel training have also contributed to the reduction of technological failures. In particular, in preparation for the operation through the autumn-winter period 125 staff trainings were carried out to work out skills in the period of abnormally low ambient temperatures, the necessary supply of basic materials, spare parts and equipment was created.

In case of emergency situations the branch formed 10 mobile crews with a total number of 74 people. They are equipped with 21 motor vehicles, including 10 all- terrain, 9 aerials and two drilling and crane vehicles. If necessary, the branch staff can use 87 backup power supply sources with total capacity of 1,129 kW. The backup power supply sources are constantly available and can be used in any territory.
