Next Sports Games of power engineers of a branch of IDGC of Centre were held, dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, on the site of the Lipetsk sports facility 'Sokol'. Among the guests of honour there were Vladimir Dementyev - head of the department of physical culture and sports of the Lipetsk region, a participant in the Olympic Games, a member of the Russian Olympic Committee and Sergey Fursov - deputy chairman of the department for physical culture and sport in the city of Lipetsk. 19 teams-representatives of structural units of the branch will compete for the championship for two days. For the first time in the Sports Games participants passed the Ready for Labor and Defense standards.

The opening of the main sporting holiday of the year was traditionally held in a solemn atmosphere with the ceremony of lining up teams, raising the corporate flag, messages of the leadership. Power grid engineers competed in 7 sports - throwing grenades, running for a hundred metres, push-ups, pull-ups, football, volleyball and others.

In the near future, from the sportsmen of the branch that showed the best results, a team will be formed to participate in the VIII Summer Sports Games of Power Engineers of IDGC of Centre, which will be held in June and will gather under its banners power engineers from all 11 branches of the Company.

Chief Engineer of the branch 'Lipetskenergo' Vladimir Tikhonov thanked the participants of the Sports Games for team spirit and will to win, and the owners of the sports facility for honest refereeing and hospitality. A special gratitude was expressed to the fans who traditionally came to support their colleagues and family members.

'This event once again confirmed the well-known truth that sports unites, therefore holding such corporate competitions is given an important place in the social policy of the branch,' stressed Ekaterina Mushnikova, the head of the HR department of Lipetskenergo.
