Employees of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division visited the Children's Sanatorium 'Prometheus', where they held a lesson for the resting children on prevention of electric injuries.

The training session gathered more than 100 children aged 12 to 15 years.

The power engineers reminded the basic rules of behaviour near power plants and handling of electrical appliances in everyday life. In particular, the fact that it is strictly forbidden to approach electrical installations and ragged wires, climb up poles of overhead lines, roofs of houses and buildings where electric wires pass nearby, throw various objects on a power line, penetrate into the territory of transformer substations.

Particular attention of teenagers was accentuated by the fashionable recent hobby - selfie. It is strictly forbidden to choose for photography electrical installations, transformer substations, power lines, poles of power lines. There is a risk of getting an electric current discharge without even touching the wire, but only approaching it at an intolerably close distance - less than 50 m.

At the practical part of the lesson for the children a master class was held to provide first aid to the victim with electric shock, using the example of the 'Gosha' dummy-simulator. After listening to the lecture, everyone was able to independently work out on the dummy skills of chest thrust, artificial respiration or indirect heart massage. At the end of the lesson for the young holidaymakers, a video review of the special film 'When electricity is dangerous' was organized.

To consolidate the knowledge, the children were given printed products with illustrations on basic electrical safety rules.

The power engineers carry out lessons in the electrical safety throughout the year in schools, kindergartens, school and health camps. In summer, during the school holidays, the power engineers intensify the work on the prevention of electric injuries among children and adolescents. Employees of each of 36 Distribution Zones throughout the region regularly remind children of how important caution and attentiveness are in dealing with electricity. Since the beginning of June, the classes have already been held in Firovsky, Vesyegonsky, Zharkovsky, Nelidovsky, Selizharovsky, Spirovsky, Molokovsky, Bologovsky and Belsky Distribution Zones.
