Nanogate publishes a statement of compliance with the German Sustainability Code for the first time.

Göttelborn, Germany, March 15, 2017. Nanogate AG, a leading global specialist for design-oriented high-tech surfaces and components, has submitted its first statement of compliance with the German Sustainability Code (Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitskodex/ DNK). Nanogate's statement of compliance will be available for all interested parties to view in the DNK database immediately after it has been audited by the German Federal Government's Council for Sustainable Development. This expands the Group's sustainability management and reinforces its long-standing commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

According to Nanogate AG CEO Ralf Zastrau, 'Since it started operations in 1999, Nanogate has been committed to sustainability and society both in its core business and in the environment. I am convinced that companies that meet their social responsibilities, focus on respect and integrity and that are ready to show diligence are companies that increase their value over the long term. Our statement of compliance with the German Sustainability Code reinforces our long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility by reporting according to recognized standards.'

The German federal government recommends the German Sustainability Code (DNK). It offers a recognized framework for reporting on non-financial performance that can be used by organizations and companies of all sizes and legal forms. By reporting according to the standards of the DNK, users are meeting the EU reporting obligation for non-financial performance indicators and providing diverse relevant information. 'Even though the CSR reporting obligation will only apply starting in 2018, we are now already submitting our first statement of compliance. The DNK allows us to further systematize our sustainability activities and therefore to continue our CSR strategy consistently, which is an integral component of our corporate strategy,' says Nanogate AG Management Board Member Michael Jung.

As the first company in its industry, Nanogate already introduced certified environmental management pursuant to ISO 14001 in 2007. As part of comprehensive certification for the Group, all sites in Germany underwent energy audits in November 2016 pursuant to ISO 50001. Since 2000, the Group has also had quality management pursuant to ISO 90001. Future updating of the DNK statement of compliance has also already been scheduled. Nanogate will continue its strategy of acting as a responsible company in the market.
