Jakob Przybylo has been appointed the Head of Building Information Modeling (BIM) at Nemetschek Allplan. In this newly created function, the 39 year old is responsible for the strategic BIM direction of the software company.

As an architect and project manager in internationally renowned architecture offices, including Coop Himmelb(l)au, Future Systems and Behnisch Architekten, Jakob Przybylo has many years of experience. During his master degree in CAAD Advanced Studies at ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule) Zurich, he acquired comprehensive knowledge in the area of digital strategies and BIM in construction. Most recently, he worked at Obermeyer Planen + Beraten, one of the largest independent engineering consultancies in Germany, where he was responsible for the strategic implementation of BIM working methods and for external BIM management.

Jakob Przybylo is the author of many publications on Building Information Modeling. His book "BIM - Einstieg kompakt" [BIM - A compact introduction] was recently published by Beuth. He is also co-author of "BIM-Leitfaden für Deutschland" (BIM Guide for Germany), published by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR). As a member of various German based BIM working groups, including the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) and vice-chairman of buildingSMART e.V., Jakob Przybylo is committed to open BIM standards and networking in the German construction industry.
