NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (President Taku Oshima; Headquarters: Nagoya, Japan) announced today that it has established NGK TECHNOLOGIES INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED as a local subsidiary in India. The subsidiary will begin marketing activities in the automotive-related and metals business fields, with the aim of expanding business in India where market growth can be expected.
Since establishing a representative office in New Delhi in January 2011, the NGK Group had been gathering market information on India. Based on this, the Group foresees an expansion in demand for automotive-related products such as HONEYCERAM® exhaust gas catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters (DPFs) as India proceeds to tighten its automotive exhaust regulations in stages. There is also potential demand in India for beryllium copper products in the field of electronics and automotive components, presenting business opportunities for the Group. Going forward, NGK will use the subsidiary to market the Group's products to customers, with the aim of expanding business in India where market growth can be expected.
