NH Hotel Group, global operator with over 400 hotels and 60,000 rooms in 29 countries in Europe, America and Africa, is celebrating its arrival in Colombia by launching 15 hotels in the country's main cities.

NH Hotel Group's presence in Colombia is the result of the acquisition of Hoteles Royal earlier this year, and its 20 hotels in Colombia, Chile and Ecuador. This acquisition was followed by an integration in systems, services and brand image, with the objective of delivering the best service and locations, knowledge and local culture, international experience, latest technology and extraordinary gastronomy under NH Royal's concept.

Consequently, Colombia is now a strategic country for the development of NH Hotel Group in Latin America, where the global company is already operating 57 hotels and more than 10,000 rooms in 10 countries.

The result of the above-mentioned operation in Colombia is a portfolio that includes 15 hotels with 1,700 rooms, 8 of which have been transformed into the upper upscale brand NH Collection and 7 into NH Hotels brand, all of them combining Colombian hospitality with excellence in management, top service and comfort standards as well as a continuous effort in innovation for both business and leisure. These services are complemented with a high-end gastronomical offer, led by renowned international chefs, and with a complete proposal for the events and meetings' segment.

Additionally, NH Hotel Group has integrated Grupo Royal's international hotels located in Chile - 4 establishments located in Santiago de Chile, Antofagasta, Iquique and Concon (two of which will remain under the NH Collection brand and two others under NH Hotels), as well as a hotel in Quito, Ecuador, under the NH Collection brand.

The launch, which took place in NH Collection Royal Teleport, was presided by Juan Manuel Santos Calderon, President of Colombia; Taleb Rifai, General Secretary of the UNWTO, and Cecilia Álvarez-Correa, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; among other authorities, Colombian society, business people and national and international tourism sector representatives also attended the event. Also, the renowned chef Paco Roncero, 2 Michelin Starred (La Terraza del Casino), designed and served the gastronomic offer of the event.

Federico J. González Tejera, CEO of NH Hotel Group, stated, "Colombia is a destination that is becoming more and more attractive, and it is our intention to continue growing in this country, to be an active part of its society's development providing our knowledge and experience to boost its touristic development and evolution. It represents a strategic market that will strengthen our presence in the region. We feel excited to offer our products and services, providing a memorable experience which fits into the costumers' living, working and interacting".

Taking advantage of the Company's presentation event in Colombia, Rafael Roldán, President of FECECA (Federation of Official Spanish Chambers of Commerce in America), which encourages the development of economic, commercial, cultural and scientific relations between Spain and Latin America, has awarded a special recognition to NH Hotel Group for pursuing its development in Latin America. This award acknowledges the Company's internationalization process and its commitment with excellence in service throughout the world.

NH has one of the most extensive and attractive hotel portfolios in Latin America, for both business and leisure travelers as well as for the Meetings and Events segment, setting it as a reference in some of the region's most relevant destinations. Currently, the Group's presence in the Americas comprises Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, USA, Haiti, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Furthermore, in Europe, NH Hotel Group is also one of the continent's largest hotel chains, operating 325 hotels in 17 countries. Spain, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands are just a few of the European countries in which the Group is also a reference for the sector, occupying in all of them, leading positions in the urban segment.

NH Collection and NH Hotels, our offer in Colombia

NH Hotel Group has 15 establishments in Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Cali and Barranquilla, all of which operate under two of the Group's main brands: NH Collection and NH Hotels.

NH Collection are upper upscale establishments designed for urban travelers, business or pleasure, and the meetings and events segment, seeking personal attention and extraordinary service in authentic and distinguished buildings. NH Collection's philosophy is to go beyond the consumers' expectations in order to deliver extraordinary experiences. At a global level, this brand has 45 hotels, and the Company is planning to increase this number in its current markets by the end of the year.

NH Hotels are urban 3 to 4 star hotels whose guests, be it for business or pleasure, enjoy top locations with the best value for money, connecting them with the center of the city and its main neighbourhoods, making travel easy and simple. These hotels pay close attention to detail and client services'. Rooms are comfortable and functional, with services and facilities that adapt to the guests' needs.

"After this first integration phase in Colombia, we will gradually implement our full worldwide offer, incorporating last-generation technological solutions and a top gastronomical proposal, among others. Combined, they create a unique experience for the customers, which we want to bring to this incredible destination", said Gilles Gonzalez, Managing Director of NH Hotel Group BU America.

NH Hotel Group's bet on growth and leadership in the region as well as in the rest of the world are a result of the Company's vision, which is that one day, whenever anyone contemplates a trip to a city for an overnight stay or meeting, for business or leisure, they will always ask themselves: "is there an NH hotel at my destination?".
