• This gesture will reduce the company's energy use by more than one million watts and avoid the emission of twelve tons of CO2.

• NH Hotel Group will also implement a series of initiatives throughout their hotels across the world, aiming to involve guests and employees in protecting the planet

For the sixth consecutive year, NH Hotel Group joins WWF's 'Earth Hour' global movement, with more than 300 hotels from across the world turning off their facade lights on March 29th from 20.30h to 21.30h.

This small gesture to help combat climate change will make the hotels of the group "invisible", enabling them to reduce their energy consumption by 1.281.556 watts and avoiding the emission of twelve tons of CO2.

Commitment to combating climate change
As part of its commitment to the environment, NH Hotel Group is not just involving its hotels from across the world in this WWF initiative. While trying to increase public awareness about the importance of protecting our planet, The Group will also invite its guests to participate actively.

For this purpose, the company has organized a series of activities in its hotels, such as candle-lit dinners or inviting guests to leave messages of support and wishes to make our planet better in special boxes placed in their lobbies. Hotels, such as NH Bucharest (Romania) and NH Lyon-Aeroport (France) among others, will award a prize to the best messages and wishes shared by guests.

Among all the initiatives organized worldwide by the Group's hotels, NH Gate One's (Bratislava, Slovakia) "Happy Hour" can be highlighted. Customers will be invited to share this moment under the candlelight and the messages. Moreover, NH Málaga (Spain) will invite its clients to try the 'The Earth Hour' cocktail, specially created for this occasion, under the candlelight.

Furthermore, some hotels will lower the intensity of the lighting of the reception and hall areas, illuminating those spaces with candles.

In addition, the company's social media profiles will be open channels through which everyone who wishes to will be able to leave messages of support for the planet, promote responsible energy use or launch messages to combat climate change using the hashtag #NHwithEarthHour.
