This approach, balancing masculine and feminine touches, is also consistent across the two footwear offerings in the collection.
'It was a pretty funky shoe to work on,' Ashpool says of the NikeLab Shake Ndestrukt x Pigalle. 'These shoes have a strong volume, so I needed to reduce that. Using the Velcro and those colors, gives it a softer twist.'
Complementing the NikeLab Air Shake Ndestrukt x Pigalle, Ashpool's take on the classic sport slide, the NikeLab Benassi Duo Ultra Slide x Pigalle, is designed to bounce straight from post-sport to party. 'I wanted to have an elegant, sporty, comfy look,' Ashpool says. 'The two straps are more feminine, but still very sporty and with just enough masculine character.'
The collection launches June 24 at NikeLab stores.
