Nike supports Bo and his quest to bike across his home
state with special Nike LunarTR1 shoes celebrating his
legacy
Bo Jackson, the multi-sport sensation and legend of Nike
Training,is riding his bike on a 300-mile journey through
the tornado ravaged communities of his home state Alabama.
Nike is outfitting Bo with special colorways of the new
Nike LunarTR1 shoe, commemorating his success across sports
and contributions to his college and pro teams. Bo will
wear these shoes during the journey while off his
bike.Designed for multi-sport training, the Nike LunarTR1
shoe officially launches June 29 and features superior
cushioning, durability and breathability.
Following Bo's ride across the state, there will be an
April 28th event at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheatre where Bo,
victims' families, ride sponsors, survivors and supporters
will gather to celebrate those affected by the disaster. At
the amphitheatre, there will be an on-site auction to raise
additional funds for the Governor's Emergency Relief Fund.
The special Nike LunarTR1 shoes will be auctioned at this
event. These versions of the shoe will not be available
outside of the auction, but the shoe will officially launch
globally on June 29 in multiple colors.
Bo's goal is to raise $1 Million for the Governor's
Emergency Relief Fundto help with unmet recovery needs
resulting from the deadly tornados that hit Alabama in
April 2011.Additional Nike athletes including Ken Griffey
Jr., Scottie Pippen, Picabo Street and Lance Armstrong will
join Bo along his ride across Alabama.
