Butte, Mont. - May 24, 2017 - John Helfrich has been named Manager, Construction for NorthWestern Energy's Butte Division.

Helfrich, a Butte native, joined NorthWestern in 2010 as a construction engineer and was named operations planner in 2013. As Manager, Construction he will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating overhead and underground electric and natural gas projects in the division, with a focus on safety. Helfrich will also play a role in community relations activities in the division.

NorthWestern's Butte Division stretches from near Whitehall to the Dillon area and north to Drummond. The division, which includes Butte and Anaconda, includes about 36,000 electric customers and 25,000 natural-gas customers.

Helfrich holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Montana Tech in Butte and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Montana. He and his wife, Karen, have one child.
