Huron, SD. - September 21, 2017 - NorthWestern Energy has scheduled a power outage for a portion of Aberdeen beginning at 2:30 a.m., on Friday, September 22, 2017. This outage could last approximately 4 to 5 hours.

The outage will impact customers east and west between 5th Street South to Pennsylvania Street South and north and south between 6th Avenue SW and 9th Avenue SW. There will also be an area north to 1st Avenue SW that will be out of power during this event.

'This will be one of the final planned outages within the circuit that lies within our area of Aberdeen that is being upgraded to a higher voltage, and in order to transition the system to the higher voltage an outage is necessary.' said Tom Glanzer - Community Relations Manager SD/NE. 'We appreciate the community's patience while we make these improvements to our system.'

Efforts are being made to contact customers via telephone or in person about the outage.
