Governor Rick Scott issued the challenge to all Florida universities to start "better aligning degrees with the student's opportunity to get a job after college." He wants 100 percent of college graduates to obtain full-time employment within a year of receiving their degrees. USF's ZAP program has already met the challenge; with 100 percent of students garnering full-time employment offers after graduation.

"The advertising curriculum and educational experience must be relevant for the student to succeed in today's real world of advertising," said Zimmerman, who is also a member of the USF Board of Trustees. "As trustees, business leaders and educators committed to higher learning, we have a responsibility to these students. They are tomorrow's leaders and the future of our country."
