3D THERMAL MODELING,

Press release March 10, 2017

A GROUNDBREAKING TOOL TO SUPPORT REAL ESTATE AND BUILDING INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

PARROT AIR SUPPORT IS OFFERING A UNIQUE, PATENTED 3D THERMAL MODELING SERVICE THAT MAKES IT EASY TO INSPECT BUILDINGS BY IMMEDIATELY VISUALIZING AND EFFECTIVELY TARGETING INSULATION DEFECTS ACROSS THE ENTIRE BUILDING SHELL.

Parrot Air Support, the Parrot Group subsidiary specialized in drone-based aerial imaging services and covering all the phases in a building's lifecycle, is offering a groundbreaking new thermographic inspection tool: 3D thermal modeling*.

3D thermal modeling: saving time and increasing accuracy The thermographic inspection tool developed by Parrot Air Support now makes it possible to carry out an online inspection directly on the 3D thermal model of a building's exterior.

With 3D thermal modeling, professionals can very quickly identify and target areas to be investigated within the overview.

By simply clicking on any part of the 3D thermal model, they can access the thermographic snapshots and HD photos recorded by the drone.

This 3D thermal modeling also enables professionals to quantify areas with heat loss issues based on actual data for the building shell.

Lastly, 3D thermal modeling offers a range of visual and factual elements on the quality of properties and can make it possible to support thermal audit findings with images that are easy and intuitive to interpret.

*This tool is patented by Parrot Air Support.

Parrot Air Support's online inspection tool

The online inspection tool developed by Parrot Air Support makes it possible to analyze a building's condition:

  • Taking dimensions

  • Recording measurements

  • Focusing in on elements in HD

  • Inspecting insulation

Drone-based thermographic inspection enables detailed inspections of buildings, combined with access to comprehensive information thanks to HD and thermographic photos.

These inspections can now be carried out with two types of modeling:

3D visible model 3D thermal model (Parrot Air Support patent)

With the 3D digital model, you can easily pinpoint the building's insulation defects, leaks from ventilation or water networks, and water seepage directly on the 3D model, identify them with the thermographic images, confirm them by comparing with the HD photos and, lastly, locate them using the 3D model.

If any issues are identified, Parrot Air Support's online inspection tool enables you to record notes and share comments directly on the 3D model, which makes it easier to produce summary reports.

    o

Air Support by Parrot's drone-based thermographic inspection service offers a range of advantages compared with ground-based thermographic readings using a thermal camera.

Indeed, it makes it possible to:

    • View the entire building, including areas that are high up or difficult to access.

    • Take thermographic snapshots from optimum angles at all times, for maximum emissivity and less reflection- related issues.

    • Clearly localize thermographic snapshots and photos on the building (particularly for buildings with repetitive geometry that could be a source of errors) with the 3D inspection tool.

    • Take accurate measurements directly on the 3D model to better quantify any work needed.

    • Record notes and share comments on the 3D model to accelerate the production of summary reports.
