Stuttgart/Milan.. Porsche Consulting GmbH, the international management consultancy company based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, has appointed two new Partners to its executive board. Federico Magno (41), who has been the Managing Director of the Italian subsidiary Porsche Consulting S.r.l. in Milan, will be in charge of the automotive sector for Porsche Consulting as of August 1. "With his vast store of international experience, Federico Magno will help us have an even greater impact," said Eberhard Weiblen, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche Consulting. Magno, who has been with the company for 14 years, will remain closely associated with Porsche Consulting S.r.l. in Italy as a member of its advisory board - in addition to his new position with the parent company.
The new Managing Director to succeed Magno in Milan will be Dr. Josef Nierling (42). With a doctorate in economic engineering, Nierling has been with the company since 2006, most recently as Principal at Porsche Consulting S.r.l. He will continue to pursue a consistent trajectory of growth in Italy. Since being founded eight years ago the southern European subsidiary has seen its number of employees increase from ten to 30. It is currently seeking additional consultants with expertise in operational excellence plus experience in the mechanical engineering and consumer goods industries. In Italy, Porsche Consulting S.r.l. advises leading clients such as the Indesit electric appliance maker, the Illycaffè coffee producer, the Trussardi fashion company, and the Tecnica Group (sports goods).
In Germany, Gregor Grandl (39) is advancing from Principal to Partner. He will be charged with further expanding the focal mechanical and plant engineering sectors. These areas are showing an especially high demand for consulting services. According to Weiblen, "Excellent products are no longer enough on their own to beat rising competition from Asian providers in the mechanical and plant engineering sectors. Success here also requires excellent processes, and this is where mechanical and plant engineering companies can benefit from the experience of the automotive industry." Porsche Consulting is already working with companies such as DMG Mori, Chiron, and Schuler.
Porsche Consulting GmbH, headquartered in Bietigheim-Bissingen, is a subsidiary of the Stuttgart-based sports car company Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. Founded in 1994 with a staff of four, it currently - in its 20th year - employs around 370 people. An internationally active company with four subsidiaries of its own located in Milan (Italy), São Paulo (Brazil), Atlanta (USA), and Shanghai (China), Porsche Consulting is one of Germany's leading management consulting companies. Its experts in operational excellence advise corporations and medium-sized companies worldwide in the automotive, aerospace, and mechanical and plant engineering industries, as well as in the service, consumer goods, and retail sectors.
