Financial services industry needs to remind Americans 'individual life insurance is available and affordable'

"We've finally reached a point where life sales are reaching pre-recession numbers, but still, 4 out of 10 Americans are without life insurance*," says Mark Hug, executive vice president of Product and Marketing at Prudential Individual Life Insurance.

And for the multicultural community, the numbers are even more drastic. In fact, nearly half of all American Latinos say they don't have life insurance because they are unable to afford it. "In order to help people get the coverage they need, the financial services industry needs to remind Americans that individual life insurance is available and affordable."

With September marking Life Insurance Awareness Month, Hug says it's the perfect time for the industry to take note. "We've responded with innovative products, personalized support and extensive outreach programs but we need to continue to expand and develop to match our consumers' evolving preferences," says Hug.
