Prudential again joined the ranks of Computerworld's '100 Best Places to Work in IT,' placing No. 5 in the category of large organizations. The company was recognized for providing its IT staff with exceptional development opportunities, close business/IT alignment, outstanding benefits and a progressive work environment that emphasizes flexibility and meaningful work/life balance.
'This is the eighth consecutive year we've made Computerworld's list, and I'm delighted we were given high marks for providing our IT employees with a supportive work environment,' says Barbara Koster, senior vice president and chief information officer at Prudential. 'This honor validates our strategy of offering employees the opportunity to work with innovative business technology in a work environment that provides flexible options to satisfy their need for work/life balance. Our IT professionals are a core part of each of the company's business units, providing greater integration, innovation and success.'
The Computerworld list is based on company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention. The publication conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
'The importance we place on flexibility is evident in the technologies that enable employee productivity and the variety of perks and benefit programs that Prudential provides,' says Michele Alcazar, vice president, Office of the CIO at Prudential. 'Our employees enjoy the benefits of having a company that supports them in multiple ways-from onsite fitness centers to support for child care to budget coaching and assistance programs for aging parents.'
The 2016 list of '100 Best Places to Work in IT' was published in a special print and online issue of Computerworld on June 13.
