Jakarta, May 16, 2014 - Bank Mandiri will operate 151 branches over the weekend on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, with 88 of these branches serving cash transactions and 63 replacing debit cards that have been blocked. The move is necessary so that customers can once again conduct financial transactions using their Bank Mandiri debit cards.

A total of 95 of the branches that will be open over the weekend are located in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. The remaining branches are located in other major cities around Indonesia, such as Medan, Surabaya and Palembang.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Nixon L.P. Napitupulu said that the Bank consistently worked to maintain the security and convenience of customers in conducting their financial transactions. "For that reason, we are opening these branches at the weekend so that customers can have their blocked ATM cards replaced with new ones free of charge," Nixon said.

Bank Mandiri, Nixon said, has also implemented an updated banking IT system to ensure that all customer funds are safe. However, he also advised customers to keep their cards and personal identification numbers (PIN) safe. This, he said, included changing one's PIN regularly to avoid the possibility of a debit card being used by an unauthorized party.
