(Jersey City, NJ - October 16, 2013) - Officials from Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) were joined today by local and state leaders at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the utility's new Jersey City Customer Service Center. The more than 4,400 square foot facility, located at 35 Journal Square, replaces the former customer service center that was located at 3 Path Plaza.

"This new facility highlights PSE&G's efforts to improve both energy efficiency and customer convenience at our service centers," said Joe Forline - vice president, customer solutions for PSE&G. "Last year more than 43,000 customers used the former Jersey City service center to pay a bill, ask a question or resolve an issue. We look forward to providing an even higher level of customer service in this more modern, more comfortable and more energy efficient facility."

PSE&G's new Jersey City Customer Service Center is located in the landmark former headquarters of the Trust Company of New Jersey, which was renovated to include modern amenities. The interior of the customer service center was designed as a high performing, energy efficient green building using the U.S. Green Business Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) process. The new Jersey City Customer Service Center incorporates a number of environmentally-friendly features, including energy efficient LED light fixtures with occupant sensors, low-flow plumbing fixtures that reduce water use, high efficiency heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and energy efficient windows. The expectation is that these energy efficiency measures will eventually result in LEED certification for the Jersey City location. Currently, PSE&G customer service centers in Passaic, Paterson and Trenton carry LEED silver designations and the customer service center in New Brunswick is awaiting LEED designation.

"PSE&G is leading by example when it comes to environmental stewardship," added Forline. "We are investing hundreds of millions in energy efficiency programs for our customers, our dedication to solar power is second to none and we have been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for six consecutive years. And that commitment to the environment extends to our commitment to making our customer service centers as green as possible."

The Jersey City Customer Service Center is located at the corner of Bergen Avenue and Newkirk Avenue and is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) is New Jersey's oldest and largest regulated gas and electric delivery utility, serving nearly three-quarters of the state's population. PSE&G is the winner of the ReliabilityOne Award for superior electric system reliability. PSE&G is a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) (NYSE:PEG), a diversified energy company ( www.pseg.com).
