Industry Leader Renews Partnership with National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals

DENVER
-As Hispanic homeownership rates increase for the second consecutive year, RE/MAX, LLC has renewed its partnership with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). The news coincides with this week's NAHREP's Housing Policy and Hispanic Lending Conference in Washington, D.C., which featured a keynote speech by Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
'Many leaders in the RE/MAX network are also leaders in NAHREP and in their communities,' said Mike Reagan, Senior Vice President, Business Alliances, RE/MAX, LLC. 'We're excited to continue our partnership with NAHREP, as they recognize the value of professional education as much as we do.'

One leader connected to both organizations is Daisy Lopez-Cid, the 2017 NAHREP President-Elect and Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Premier Properties in Orlando, Fla. Lopez-Cid has been instrumental in the development of the NAHREP coaches program and the formation of new NAHREP chapters across the country.
'I'm excited to serve as the 2017 president-elect of NAHREP, an organization that understands the importance of the growing Hispanic ownership trend and the unique opportunities it presents to our industry,' said Lopez-Cid. 'It's our job as real estate brokers and agents to work with clients and engage with lawmakers on key policy issues that foster a healthy environment for Hispanics to achieve the American Dream.'
At the conference, NAHREP released its annual State of Hispanic Homeownership Report, which shows that homeownership among Hispanics increased last year from 45.6% to 46%, while the overall rate of homeownership in the U.S. decreased to the lowest levels in almost 50 years. The growing number of Hispanic homeowners reflects the Hispanic community's significant economic influence and purchasing power.
'RE/MAX has a strong presence in many Hispanic communities across the country, and our agents are providing their clients with the high level of customer service RE/MAX is known for,' Reagan added.

In each of the past two years, RE/MAX agents held 61 spots in the annual NAHREP Top 250 Latino Agent rankings, nearly twice as many as any other real estate organization.
