Republic Bank Unveils New Julius Friedman Poster Iconic artist's Frazier Museum exhibit expanded with displays in Republic Bank locations

Louisville, KY - Julius Friedman, internationally recognized photographer and graphic artist, unveiled a new poster today at Republic Bank's Corporate Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The new poster helps kick off a new exhibit at The Frazier Museum: Julius Friedman: Fifty Year Retrospective, presented with support from Republic Bank, June 24-October 9. Republic Bank will expand the exhibit beyond the museum walls and to its own banking centers.

The new poster, created to celebrate the Frazier exhibit, will be free to view at ten Republic Bank locations across Louisville. This Julius Friedman self-portrait was born out of crisis during a spring flood. As the torrential rain poured in on the Louisville artist's Highlands home, Friedman paused to observe the beauty of the moisture caused by the rain on a window pane in his house. With a photographer's eye and an artist's touch, Friedman placed his hand on the pane to create an image of dimension, light, and color as well as patience, reflection and perspective.

In addition to this poster, 27 additional images from Friedman's iconic collection will be placed at Republic Bank locations in Kentucky and southern Indiana.

"We are thrilled to bring this iconic artwork to our banking customers and community members," said Steve DeWeese, Executive Vice President of Republic Bank & Trust Company. "Julius Friedman has had his work exhibited around the world, and we are honored to be able to showcase it at our local banking centers."

Friedman is a Louisville native. This is the first time his awe-inspiring collection, made up of more than 200 images, will be on display at the Frazier History Museum and Republic Bank banking centers. Before photos were snapped on phones and editing was done with a click of a mouse, Friedman was creating images the old fashioned way - with his hands, his imagination and lighting.

Fifty Year Retrospective is a celebration of Friedman's previous works, as well as exciting new pieces. This multi- media exhibit promises to captivate viewers and allow them to experience the unconventional creations that Friedman has to offer. Some of Friedman's best and most recognized pieces will be on display, including classic pieces such as "Toe on Egg" and "Fresh Paint".

Friedman's work has been exhibited at museums across North America, Asia and Europe, including the Museum of Modern Art, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, National Gallery of Art, and the National Museum of Poster Art (Warsaw, Poland).

Clients and guests of Republic Bank will also be provided with the opportunity to learn how to secure their own copy of Friedman's incredible new poster.

The Frazier Museum will also celebrate the opening of the exhibit on Friday, June 24 by having 30 children re- create Julius Friedman's famous "Ice Cream in French Horn" poster, using gelato. This will take place at 10 a.m. in front of The Frazier Museum. Outdoor activities are open to the public.
