Romande Energie : acquires second wind farm in Brittany

Romande Energie has acquired all the share capital of Société Pluzunet SAS, the owner of a wind farm in Brittany. Previous acquisitions in France were the Meyronnes hydropower plant, in Provence (2013), and the Ploudalmézeau wind farm, also in Brittany (2014). Additionally, Romande Energie previously bought a 5% interest in Société Icaunaise SAS, the owner of six hydropower plants in France, together with an option to purchase the remaining 95% of the share capital (exercisable in 2020).

These acquisitions are the result of the Group's prospecting in the French hydropower and wind-power sectors. As with the many projects under way in Switzerland, the opportunities seized by Romande Energie in France embody its strategy for expanding its portfolio of power generation assets, with a focus on renewable sources.

The wind farm, with its three turbines, is located in the Côtes-d'Armor administrative department, in the Brittany region. It has a capacity of 6 MW and an annual output of

10.7 million kilowatt hours (kWh), equivalent to the average yearly power demand of more than 3,000 households.

Through its subsidiary Romande Energie has an effective structure for purchasing and operating generation assets in the high-potential French market. Romande Energie France SAS has a light corporate structure and is supported by Romande Energie's technical, financial and legal specialists. Procedures under way could lead to more generation assets being added to the supply portfolio in the coming months.
