2016 is due to be a significant year in UK Immigration. In January, the Migration Advisory Committee published their recommendations to tighten the Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa Routes to reduce Non-EU Migration. It is expected that these recommendations will be effected in the statement of changes in April 2016.

Sir David Metcalf is the Chairman of the Migration Advisory Committee. The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) is public body that advises the government on migration issues. He has been instrumental on advising the government with UK immigration policy and has covered issues such as the impacts of immigration, the limits on immigration under the Points Based System and on skill shortages within occupations.
