Hanover Fair 2017: Schindler launches its the new digital platform Schindler Ahead

Predictive maintenance, reliability and relevant data in in real time: At the Hanover Industrial Fair 2017, Schindler will present Schindler Ahead - a digital solution that benefits customers, facility managers and passengers (hall 12, booth D50/1). Schindler Ahead will allow for a better and more flexible management of elevators and escalators and serve as platform for the development of new smart products and services.

With Schindler Ahead, Schindler has built a digital platform that connects customers, passengers, equipment and service technicians. Elevators and Escalators are becoming smart and intelligent machines. Via the Internet of Things relevant data can be analyzed in real time and possible service issue can be anticipated and resolved before they occur. With Schindler Ahead equipment reliability and uptime gets optimized accordingly.

Via tailored apps building owners and facility managers can check in real time the status of their equipment and have instant access to operational, performance, and commercial data to better manage their equipment portfolio. Interactive and personalized services will allow for a superior passenger experience.

Schindler Ahead is future-proof. Customers will benefit from Schindler and its partner ecosystem's innovations. Updates and new applications can easily be downloaded "over the air" (OTA) from the Schindler Ahead App Store without having a service technician coming onsite.

"With Schindler Ahead, we have built a digital platform for smart urban mobility solutions," says Thomas Oetterli, CEO of Schindler. "Using innovative technologies such as the Internet of Things, edge computing and advanced analytics, we can offer customers and passengers real-time data, insights, enhanced reliability and convenience," says Michael Nilles, Chief Digital Officer of Schindler.
