Schroders' Global Head of Retirement, Lesley-Ann Morgan, speaks on the BBC's Business Live programme about Schroders Global Investor Study 2018, which surveyed 22,000 people in 30 countries, and how people in the UK and globally are significantly underestimating the cost of living in retirement.

In the interview Lesley-Ann explains to BBC Business presenters Sally Bundock and Ben Thompson that the knock-on impact of the greater cost of living in retirement means that people may be unable to undertake the same amount of leisure activities, such as travelling and hobbies, they had been hoping to ahead of retiring.

Perhaps an indication that retirement pots may not stretch far enough, our report shows that retirees are continuing to invest on average 19% of their retirement savings, substantially more than expected ahead of retiring. This is also compounded by the fact that people are now living longer than before.
