Schroders : Global Equities senior hire announced

Schroders is today announcing the appointment of Frank Thormann to the position of Portfolio Manager in the Global Equities team.

Frank joins Schroders from Frankfurt-based Union Investment where he was a global portfolio manager and brings with him 17-years buy-side investment experience. Having initially focused on the North American component of Union's Concentrated Global Equity portfolios, he assumed overall portfolio management responsibility for the UniFavorit Concentrated Global Equity Fund in early 2010. The fund achieved a five-star rating from Morningstar during his tenure. The strategy grew in assets from EUR190mn, at the time of Frank's appointment, to more than EUR 2bn today.

Before joining Union Investment in 2008, Frank worked at American Century Investments in Kansas City, USA where he was a multi-industry analyst for the American Century Ultra Fund, as well as for the AC Select Equity Fund.

Frank will report to Alex Tedder, Head of Global Equities. Alex joined Schroders in August 2014 from American Century. In that time he has made a number of significant enhancements to the investment process, including several new hires and a more systematic application of the investment philosophy. All of these improvements have resulted in strong positive relative returns, gross of fees, across the team's portfolios over the 3-year period ending August 2017*.
