Moscow - PAO Severstal, one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies, was ranked second best mid-cap company in Russia and the CIS for investor relations by IR Magazine and Thomson Reuters Extel.

Contenders for best Investor Relations were selected according to the 2015 independent annual survey (Russia Investor Relations Survey), conducted by British agency Extel, which targets the investment community (brokerage firms, portfolio managers, sales representatives). Based on the results of the survey, the best Russian IR professionals are nominated and awarded by IR Magazine Russia & CIS. The 2015 ceremony took place on July 9 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Moscow.

As a result of its very high rating Severstal was awarded in the key category, Grand Prix for Best Overall Investor Relations, coming second only to the Moscow Exchange.

Vladimir Zaluzhsky, Head of Investor Relations of Severstal, said:

"We are delighted to receive such recognition from the professional IR-community. This prestigious award is the result of teamwork across all of the company's key departments and top management. 2014 has been a very successful year for the company in general. The right strategic decisions have driven Severstal to become sector-leading in efficiency and one of the world's top ten steel-related companies by capitalization. Our IR team is constantly working to meet high standards of transparency and openness for investors. The award from IR Magazine Russia reaffirms Severstal's full alignment with the best practices in investor relations."
