Singapore Airlines will operate seasonal services to Sapporo during December 2014 and January 2015 to meet expected demand during the peak winter travel season.

A total of 14 flights will be operated to the capital of Hokkaido, a vast island accounting for about a fifth of Japan's total area. A renowned skiing and snow sports destination, Hokkaido is also home to many national parks and natural landscapes, high-quality agriculture and seafood, hot springs, as well as the Sapporo White Illumination - a Festival where the city blanketed in snow will be lit with decorative lights.

Flights to Sapporo's New Chitose Airport will operate twice-weekly as SQ660 on Mondays and Fridays, between 1 December 2014 and 16 January 2015. Flights will depart at 2330hrs and arrive at 0800hrs the following day. Return Sapporo-Singapore flights will operate as SQ661, departing at 0930hrs on Tuesdays and 0855hrs on Saturdays, between 2 December 2014 and 17 January 2015. Airbus A330-300s will be used for the flights, with 30 seats in Business Class and 255 seats in Economy Class.

Singapore Airlines operates year-round services to four other Japanese cities, namely Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo (both Haneda and Narita airports).
