Cairo, Egypt-March 16th , 2014-To mark the graduation of the AUC Venture lab's first cycle (SODIC Cycle)¬, the School of Business at the American University in Cairo (AUC) recently held the AUC Venture lab (V-Lab) Demo Day where the six incubated startups showcased their products and services. The SODIC Cycle marks the first of three cycles SODIC is sponsoring over three years as Corporate Leadership Founder of the V-lab.

The incubated projects included flying helicopters that detect land mines, e-news aggregation applications, online e-portal for the textile industry, online hub for transportation services, online video games and devices that aid the visually impaired. At AUC's New Cairo campus, the Demo Day was attended by Ahmed Badrawi, Managing Director of SODIC; Sherif Kamel, Dean of School of Business; Karim ElSeghir Associate Dean for Undergraduate studies and Administration, and a group of AUC professors and reputable Egyptian businessmen.

The program provides young entrepreneur start-up companies with access to AUC facilities, intellectual capital, world-wide alumni network and seed funding for their companies through incubation cycles. The next SODIC cycle is scheduled to begin in September 2014.
