STV auctions The Hour sofa to raise cash for STV Appeal

There have been many famous bottoms on this stylish sofa, and now it’s your chance to perch on the same couch as the likes of Westlife, X-Factor winner Shayne Ward, Tony Hadley, JLS, Cherie Blair, Juliette Lewis, Mark Ronson, Noel Fielding, Coronation Street and Taggart star John Michie, comedian Dom Joly, River City’s Tom Urie and comic legend Lenny Henry – to name just a few!

This Sunday, STV’s The Hour team is auctioning their famous couch to help raise cash for the STV Appeal 2011, which is raising money for children living in poverty across Scotland.  Auctioneer Anita Manning will be in charge of the auction at the Barras Market taking place this Sunday (14 August) between 1.30pm and 3pm.

Tom Cara, Series Producer of The Hour, said:  “We’ve had some truly famous bottoms perched upon this stylish sofa so it’s a brilliant buy.  Everyone at STV is getting involved with the STV Appeal, to help raise money for children living in poverty across the country, and we hope that The Hour sofa will rake in the pounds.  It’s also a lovely looking and comfortable couch so I’m sure it’ll be a great addition to any lounge!”

STV will be filming at the auction on Sunday as part of their STV Appeal programming, which is due to air in September.

Comedian Bruce Devlin will be there on the day to whip those potential sofa-owners into a buying frenzy.

If you’d like to take part in the auction, please go to the Barras Market Auction at around 1.30pm on Sunday 14 August.
