10/19/2015 -SUEZ inaugurates the extension of Jordan's largest wastewater plant

Today, the SUEZ Group and its partners inaugurated the extension of the As Samra wastewater treatment plant, in the presence of the Jordanian Prime Minister, Adbullah Ensour, the Minister of Water and Irrigation, Hazem El Nasser, and Marie-Ange Debon, Senior Executive Vice-President in charge of the International Division of SUEZ.

The As Samra plant is a key component of the strategy adopted by the Jordanian authorities to protect water resources. It treats more than 70% of the wastewater in Jordan, it is 80% energy self-sufficient and supplies 10% of the country's water resources used in agriculture.

At the inauguration, Marie-Ange Debon stated: 'We are delighted to support Jordan in its quest to protect water resources by recycling treated water for agriculture. The As Samra plant is renowned for the quality of its infrastructures, with its certifications for environmental management and energy efficiency, which testify to our capacity to deliver sustainable solutions to protect the planet's resources.'
