~ Conducts 20 camps and 9 science fairs to impact 2480 student ~

Ahmedabad, Mundra and Delhi, June 29, 2015: Tata Power, India's largest integrated power pany, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL), launched a unique Science Program and series of Sky Watch Science Camps in Mundra, Gujarat. The pany firmly abides by its conviction that education is one of the keystones of national development and has consistently given priority for education of all children located in the vicinity of its project area and even for a larger impact across Kutch district.

Believing that primary education plays a pivotal role in laying a strong foundation for a child's intellectual, physical and social development, Tata Power has established various programs for the betterment of the children.

The objective of this initiative was to provide the right type of education to India's future generation. The Science Program covered 20 schools through both the Science fairs and Club activities conducted in the school through workshops. The workshop covered various topics including the story of magnets, human torso, understanding of the skeletal system -joints and bone structure. During the workshops, children were familiarized with the correct terminologies including functions performed by the various systems in the body. 9 Science Fairs were conducted across a three day period where models explaining scientific concepts created by close to 1400 children were displayed. Nearly 2480 children were reached through visits and participation in the science fairs where reading corners were established in order to provide access to further reading material. The highlight of the program was the Mega Science Fair which honoured famous Sir C V Raman, acknowledging his contribution to science in India.

The Science Program adopted a multi-pronged approach towards the education of the students through direct interventions, training of teachers, content creation for learning material for enhancing the children's abilities. Furthermore, regular contact, sharing of learning, making most of the opportunities for convergence, have been key elements in the success of this initiative.
